Kerrang! Ownership

Kerrang! is a heavy metal music magazine. Kerrang! is published by Wasted Talent. They also make a magazine called The Face and a magazine called MixMag.
Bauer Media group sold these magazines as they were not making enough money.
Bauer Media did not sell the Kerrang! radio and TV stations as they were still generating profit. 
The first thing that they have done is gone from weekly to monthly. They are using social media to promote the brand an also publish their news. They have also expanded the brand into the USA as well. This will be published monthly. They have done a US only version of magazine as they are a larger target audience.

History of Ownership

1981- published as a one-off supplement in sounds newspaper.
Initially, it was launched monthly, before going fortnightly; in 1987, it went weekly. Originally owned by United Newspaper. 
1991- sold to EMAP
2008- sold to Bauer Media
2017- sold to Wasted Talent 

Whilst there are different platforms it is disjointed in terms of synergy as they are owned by different companies so it is difficult to work together.

Ownership Heart is the biggest commercial station in the UK. There target audience is 25 to 44 year olds. 9.7 million listeners every week.  Heart is a subsidiary as it is owned by global. Global owns a variety of different radio station each one targeting a different demographics.  Heart is a radio network of 22 stations owned by Global. 19 of Hearts 22 channels are owned by global. The other 3 are owned by Communicorp and operated under a franchise agreement.  Above-the-line Traditional Advertising  Heart promotes above the line most important shows such as Heart Breakfast.
