3. What are your own thoughts of this type of first person POV shooter game, and its societal effects?
Discuss the possible positive and negative media effects a product you have studied might have on its audience.
Video games such as Call of duty could have positive effects. They are very realistic and could introduce someone who has never been in a war before to how it is like. Call of duty can educate to what a battle terrain looks like.
Call of duty can also be negative. This is because it promotes violence. There are multiple violence scenes such as stabbing and shooting. To much exposer to this can possibly cause someone to be more violent. Some may think this is called and may think it is cool to stab someone in real life which is illegal. The hypodermic needle theory suggests that people can be brainwashed to thinking violence is ok.
